A Good Read

Now this is just a quick post of a book suggestion. The book Sword At Sunset by Rosemary Sutcliff. I read about two years ago, and loved it. It’s  about Artos (short for Artorias) , and his campaign to stop invading forces in Britian. Artos is basically King Arthur, but this book is not about legend and myth, but more about being realistic about the story.

Cheers,

Liam

Getting Back to Reading

I will be getting back to Reading today. I’ll be somewhere in the Sweep series, not exactly sure where, I will have to check. I haven’t read for a week or so, but I had a pretty good reason I guess.

My Brother and I were actually finishing up or Eagle Projects, because yes, we are both Boy Scouts. We finished the work yesterday, and did most of the paperwork today. So yes! I’m excited. If you were wondering what we did, my Brother’s project was making a handicap access ramp at a local park, mine was to weatherproof some buildings at the same park.

The finished ramp from my Brother's Project, we used Dirty AB because that's what the park wanted, and it was cheaper.

My Music Taste

I like music. I think everyone does. I think I’m like most people in the fact that I like multiple types of music. So I’m going to talk about some music I sort of like, and some I’m always in the mood for.

Okay, this might sound lame, but my favorite band is Fall Out Boy. This is mainly due to the fact my older brother listened to them a lot when I was younger, and I took after him. Their newest album Save Rock and Roll is my least favorite of all of theirs, and Folie a Deux is probably my favorite. I was really excited when they came back from Hiatus last year with the release of My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark. I’ve seen them in concert twice, both last year. They sound better live then they do in recordings.

I’m probably going to forget some bands in this post.

I also like Panic! At The Disco, who are only big really because of Fall Out Boy. They tour together a lot, so I got acquainted with their music, and I’m a pretty big fan of most of their music. I saw them in concert with Fall Out Boy about 13 months ago. They’re kind of weird live.

Twenty One Pilots is a band I’ve only been listening to actively for about a year, though I’ve known about them for about two maybe. I mainly listen to their album Vessel, but the song Addict With A Pen from their first album is one of my favorite songs in general. Their lyrics seem to talk about depression, and their music style is kind of unique, and pretty nice. They were the opening act at the second Fall Out Boy concert I went to. They aren’t the best live, but they’re okay.

Okay, my first concert I ever went to was for A Day To Remember when I was 13. I’m not much into that type of music anymore, but I enjoy it from time to time. I haven’t listened to their new album, but the album Homesick is the album that they were touring for when I saw them, and it’s pretty nice. They’re pretty good live.

Go Radio was the opening act for A Day To Remember at the concert I went to. I fell in love with their EP Do Overs and Second Chances at the concert, and bought the CD after it was over. Their song Goodnight Moon is special. They broke up about a year ago, which I guess is sad. It’s been awhile, but I remember them being good live.

I use to really love Avenged Sevenfold. I jam out to their more epic songs from time to time, but I don’t listen to them much. Same goes for NeverShoutNever, who I was addicted to for about five years ago, though I rarely listen to anymore. They both have some good songs, though the new NeverShoutNever is pretty bad.

I’m in love with some Queen. Mainly their more popular songs, though I haven’t really explored all their songs yet. I love jamming out to them.

Hall & Oates have a couple songs I enjoy. Mainly Private Eyes and Out of Touch. Pretty good.

I went through a stage of listening to a ton of Florence + the Machine and Imagine Dragons. They’re okay, and have some really good songs, especially Dog Days Are Over by Florence and Demons by Imagine Dragons.

Not a big fan of rap but The Show Goes On by Lupe Fiasco is pretty good.

When Fall Out Boy was on hiatus, they all did music still. Patrick Stump released a solo album called Soul Punk, which I actually really enjoy, but It’s kind of weird.

I am a Tolkien enthusiast. I really enjoy the Lord of the Rings movies and the music of Howard Shore that goes with them. Now my favorite song of his though has to be Dreaming of Bag End, which is actually from The Hobbit, but the song is simply majestic. It’s really short too.

Some Misty Mountains Cold doesn’t hurt either.

I like a lot of random songs from a bunch of artist, like any normal human being. To name a few: Stuck LIke Glue by Sugarland, Uprising by Muse, The Call by Regina Spektor, Mirrors by Justin Timberlake, Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker, I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, Everyone Alive by Local H, Shaboom by The Good Timers, Gangsta’s Paradise by Coolio, One Night In Bangkok by Murray Head, Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jets, 1985 by Bowling For Soup, etc, etc.

I also like some songs from bands that I use to really enjoy, but haven’t listened to much the past few years. Like Chiodos, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Metro Station, Blink-182, Reliant K, and others.

Billy Joel is amazing.

Halo music, mainly the music by Marty O’Donnell, is amazing. Video game music is usually just background filler, but with Halo it’s part of the experience. The Warthog Run makes the moment all the more epic. The Mjolnir Mix is pure awesome. Never Forget (especially the Midnight Version) makes me want to cry (or does sometimes). 117 is legendary. 😉

I also like some Celtic folk stuff. Orla Fallon’s Ni Na La just makes me want to dance, and I hate dancing.

Today I listened to some stuff my Joanna Grace (Burgess) in her new EP We’ve Always Dreamed. It’s pretty good, makes me think sort of. It’s poetic.

I wrote this whole think listening to Twenty One Pilots.

So that’s what I got. I most surely have forgotten something, but pfft.

Twitter Trouble

I thought I’d just post this because of what you could probably tell by looking at the Twitter feed on this blog currently. This guy – who I don’t feel like naming, but he’d be easy to find out who I’m talking about –  was harassing this girl, with really inappropriate stuff. It was kind of sickening to read. So what he did though was use another account to harass her because his main Twitter account was about stopping bullies, or at least that’s what his recent tweets showed. Now it was found out easily through the internet that these two accounts were probably the same person, because the second accounts handle was the same as the his main accounts PSN ID. So coincidence? Probably not, considering a tweet was found of him saying the two names were both him. He deleted the tweet and made that you could only view his Tweets if you were a verified follower. So eh, I’d advise not following him.

I guess the lesson would be to not start bad stuff when it’ll easily be found out, especially when you’re threatening blackmail and giving vulgar threats.

I don’t know, that was just bothering me,

Sunday

Now it’s pretty late at night and I just feel like posting the basic stuff I did today, some of which is not common for Sundays. I didn’t go to church, because there was conference, so basically I went to church by watching it on TV, though this only happens twice a year. It was good, one quote stands out to me in particular, which is: “You  are not my brothers keeper, you are my brothers brother.” I’m not exactly sure what it means, but it sounds nice right?

I didn’t play any video games today, which is something I normally practice because my Dad advised us not too.

My family and I had dinner with our “neighbors”, who are actually good friends of ours. We try to get together and have Dinner with them every Sunday, but in some cases we don’t. Like last week we were all out of town because of a wedding, which was for a relative of our neighbors actually, so they were there.

I was hanging in Witches Chat main chat room today, which I like to do from time to time. I’m not a witch or anything of the sort so it may seem weird, but I like to get to know the people in there, and Christian’s are certainly welcome…if they’re not telling everyone they’re going to hell. I don’t really talk much in chat honestly.

Now that was my day! Tomorrow I got school, seminary, and maybe some other things. I plan on playing some Shadow of Mordor and maybe some Destiny. We’ll See.

Good night,

Liam

Hello!

Hello, I’m Liam! I’m just making this random post because I just made this blog, so why not? I actually only made it to comment on some other blogs, but I may actually post on here every once in awhile about anything I’m up to. I guess I should introduce my self. I’m a senior in High School and currently live in Arizona. I’m home schooled, and have been since my junior year. I grew up in Illinois, but later moved to Florida, then Texas, and I’m currently in Arizona for a little while. My family travels a lot now. I like politics, and I hate to annoy people with post about that stuff, so I probably won’t unless I’m really annoyed, but to warn everyone I’m Libertarian, sort of leaning towards conservative. Too make you happy I’d rather be in the Libertarian Party rather than the Democratic or Republican ones. I’m a christian, and have been since I was twelve, before that I’d say I was an atheist, though I was young, so who really knows. I have an interest in all religions, mainly Christian because that’s what I am, and Pagan ones, because that’s what my ancestors were. I love history. I love video games. I play on Xbox a lot, and my favorite series is Halo. I like reading, anything from Fantasy to Sci-fi. I like movies of course too, Lord of the Rings being my favorite(“For death and glory!”) Hmm, that’s all I got for about me really. I guess I’m looking forward to Halloween/Samhain, whatever you celebrate,  I like that holiday.

So yeah, see you all around,

Liam
